Setting Up Basic Flows with Shopify Flow and JeriCommerce

This guide will walk you through setting up three essential automated workflows using Shopify, Shopify Flow, and JeriCommerce:

1. Welcome Flow – Automatically issue a wallet pass to new customers.
2. Welcome Reward – Reward customers after they install their wallet pass

Prerequisites

Before setting up these flows, ensure you have:

• A Shopify store with Shopify Flow enabled.
• JeriCommerce installed and configured.
• The necessary customer segments and syncs configured in Shopify Integration, in the technical settings.

1. Setting Up a Welcome Flow

This flow will automatically send a Welcome flow when a customer installs Wallet Pass.

Steps:

‍

1. Go to Shopify Flow in your Shopify admin panel.
2. Click Create Workflow.
3. Select Trigger: Wallet Pass Installed
4. Add an Action: Send Push Notification
5. Configure the action:
   Edit the text that will be shown in the Welcome Push notification. You can include a link.
6. Add additional steps. If you'd like - you can send another push notification after 5 minuts. Example: Start earning points, Learn how! or Visit our Store
7. Save and enable the workflow.

Expected Outcome:

New customers will receive a push notification after installing the Wallet and experience the first interaction.

2. Setting Up a Welcome Reward

Reward your customers after they install your wallet on their devices. Save a customer metafield if the customer has already been rewarded before in order to only reward them once.

A pre-built template for this workflow is available in Shopify Flow. You can find it by browsing templates in the Shopify admin.

Steps:

‍

1. Go to Shopify Flow.
2. Click Create Workflow.
3. Select Trigger: Wallet Pass Installed.
4. Add a Condition:
   • Check if the customer has already received a reward (via metafield).
5. Add an Action: "Update Wallet Balance" (JeriCommerce action).
6. Configure the action:
   • Set the reward amount.
   • Link the action to the customer.
7. Save and enable the workflow.

Expected Outcome:

Customers will automatically receive a reward after installing their wallet pass, but only once.
